How to Open an EcoCash DMT Agent Account: Requirements & Process.

Step 1: Verify Your Eligibility Before applying, ensure your business meets the basic criteria:

Business Status: You must be a registered Company, Partnership, Sole Trader, or NGO.

Physical Premises: You must have a fixed, reachable business location.

Capital: You must have the minimum float requirements ready (usually USD $500 – $1,000 depending on your location).

Step 2: Prepare the Mandatory Document Pack Gather certified copies of the following (for a Registered Company):

Corporate Docs: Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum & Articles of Association, and CR14 (listing directors).

Tax & Trade: Valid Tax Clearance Certificate and a current Trading License.

Director KYC: Passport photos, Certified IDs, and Proof of Residence for at least two directors.

Bank Records: A company bank statement (first page) showing the account name.

Letter of Request: A formal letter on your company letterhead requesting to open an EcoCash Agent account.

Step 3: Set Up Physical Security (DMT Requirement) If you are applying specifically for the Domestic Money Transfer (DMT) facility, your premises must be inspected for:

A functioning CCTV system.

A fake note detector.

A secure counter or teller screen (separating the transactor from customers).

A dual-control safe for cash storage.

Step 4: Complete the Application Forms You can obtain these forms at an Econet Shop or via the EcoCash website:

Agent Application Form

Franchise Agreement

Mandate & Indemnity Form (authorizing specific staff to transact).

Beneficial Ownership Form.

Step 5: Submit Your Application There are two ways to submit:

Physical Submission: Take your document pack and completed forms to the nearest Econet Shop.

Digital Submission: Use the EcoCash Partner Portal to upload scanned copies and track your application status.

Step 6: Vetting and Activation Inspection: EcoCash officials may visit your premises to verify your security setup.

Contract Signing: Once approved, you will sign the final service contract.

Wallet Activation: You will receive your Agent Line and a temporary Start PIN.
