To register a .co.zw domain:

Contact a ZISPA-accredited registrar. Namely: Webdev, name.co.zw, Webzim, Frampol, ZOL, Liquid.

Most local ISPs and web hosting companies are registrars.

Non-residents may use either a Zimbabwean registrar or a foreign registrar.

⚠️ Always confirm the registrar is authorized to process .co.zw domains.

Step 2: Prepare Required Documents

The person or company registering the domain is called the registrant.

You must submit the following to your registrar:

If Registering as a Company

A letter on company letterhead

Signed by an authorized person

Must state:

The domain name to be registered

The registrar nominated to register it

Confirmation of acceptance of ZISPA Terms & Conditions

Example:

“Please register example.co.zw for our company. We confirm acceptance of ZISPA Terms and Conditions.”

If Registering as an Individual

A signed application letter

A certified copy of your ID

Confirmation of acceptance of ZISPA Terms & Conditions

Step 3: Registrar Submits to ZISPA

Your registrar will:

Complete the official .co.zw template

Add technical and contact details

Save it in ASCII (ANSI format)

Email it to ZISPA

Once approved, your domain is registered.

⏳ Processing usually takes 24–72 hours depending on the registrar.

Important: Nameserver Requirements

If your domain uses nameservers like:

ns1.yourdomain.co.zw

ns2.yourdomain.co.zw

Then their IP addresses must be registered as glue records with ZISPA.

Without glue records: ❌ Your domain may not resolve properly.

Also:

Each nameserver must have its own A record configured.

The Nameservers should be Authoritative otherwise domain can be deleted.
