The Kings of the Plate: Understanding Innscor and Simbisa Brands

If you have ever eaten a "Streetwise 2" or bought a loaf of Baker’s Inn bread, you have interacted with the Innscor and Simbisa empire. While they were once a single company, they are now separate giants that dominate the "Fast Moving Consumer Goods" (FMCG) sector in Zimbabwe.

Who are they? Innscor Africa Limited: Founded in 1987, it is a focused light manufacturing group. It is the "mother company" that manufactures the food we eat before it gets to the shops.

Simbisa Brands: In 2015, Innscor spun off its "Quick Service Restaurant" (QSR) division to create Simbisa Brands, which is now separately listed on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX).

Simbisa Brands: The Takeaway Giant Simbisa operates over 600 outlets across Africa, but it is most famous for its "iconic" brands in Zimbabwe:
