For Boarding Schools: The eMAP Platform

The Electronic Ministry Application Platform (eMAP) is the official government portal used for applying to all Form One boarding places in Zimbabwe.Quick Guide to eMAP

Timeline: Applications usually open in early November and close on December 31st.

Application Limit: You are allowed to apply to a maximum of 5 schools simultaneously.

Steps to Apply Register: Use the learner's Centre Number, Candidate Number, and Date of Birth to create an account.

Select Schools: Log in and choose up to 5 preferred schools from any province or district.

Track Status: Monitor your dashboard for updates:

Pending: Application is under review.

Accepted: You have received an offer; an SMS notification is usually sent.

Rejected: The school has declined the application.

Processed: You have already accepted a different offer.

Confirm: Once "Accepted," you must promptly accept the offer on the portal to finalize the placement.

For Day Schools: Physical Enrollment Placement for government and council day schools generally does not use the eMAP portal.

How to do it: Parents typically visit the school physically with the child's Grade 7 result slip, Birth Certificate, and proof of residence to register for a place once results are released.

Quick Checklist of Requirements Regardless of the platform, ensure you have these ready:

[ ] Grade 7 Examination Details: Centre Number and Candidate Number.

[ ] Academic Reports: Grade 6 (full year) and Grade 7 (Term 1 & 2) reports.

[ ] Certified Birth Certificate: A clear copy.
